Volunteer

We could not do what we do without the help of dedicated volunteers. Short and longer-term opportunities are available. Here are some examples of volunteer assignments:

  • Reception: Greet and direct clients and visitors, direct telephone calls, collect client paperwork. Training is provided.
  • Ambassadors: Help us spread the word about our work and impact.
  • Fundraising: Work with executive staff and agency committees on fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Mentors: Provide feedback, suggestions, and support that helps people get and keep jobs and housing.
  • Clerical: General office and administrative help.
  • Workshop Facilitators: Facilitate skill or recreational workshops at our office. Workshops can be related to your professional or personal skills and interests.
  • “Handy” people: Help with building maintenance and repair.

We would like to hear your ideas too!

Shop 'Till You Drop for HATAS! Over 600 on-line merchants have agreed to share profits with HATAS if you make your purchase through iGive (www.iGive.com/HATAS). Annual May Day Breakfast

Please join us 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Wolferts Roost Country Club, 120 Van Rensselar Blvd., Albany NY for our annual May Day fundraising breakfast.

HATAS@Home

Join us for a morning of coffee, bagels and HATAS@Home. You're in by 8, out by 9!

Once a month, HATAS opens its doors to host HATAS@Home, a community outreach and educational program designed to spread the word about who we are, what we do, and the impact of HATAS on the community. Come have breakfast with us. You'll see what we do first hand, and learn about some important community issues. This is a free event — not a fund raiser — and there is no solicitation of our guest.

Call (518) 463-2124 or email info@hatas.org for the date and time of our next HATAS@Home.

We can bring HATAS@Home to you!

Want to share your interest in community issues with others? We enjoy coming to staff meetings, faith and community group events, luncheons, or any occasions when people get together to discuss community issues. Whether your group is large or small, we will deliver a compelling program in an hour or less. Give us a date, time, and place and we will be there! Call us at (518) 463-2124 for information and scheduling.
